My Mother Earth

Oh how beautiful she was to me

How gracefully she always was and always be

Her smile, her laugh, the way she lived

Gave me the gift of life

But she gave the love I'll forever have

She was my mother earth

Though I started out small and unnoticed

she nurtured and helped me grow

When I was thristed for learning

She gave me the river of knowledge

Whenever I felt weak, cold and need love

she would shine the sun's warmth on me

Protected me from the cruel elements

that wanted to stomp and hurt my being

She was my mother earth

Slowly I grew and blossomed ever so beautifully

Learning, laughing, living through the seasons of time

But still she nurtured me without judgement

And let me face the world on my own

Then the day came so swiftly and quickly

The day that my mother earth had died

I closed up, hid from the world

Wanted to wither up and died

I miss my mother earth

But though she is gone with God

I live slowly each day with the hurt

Because she gave my life to live

Forever, she'll always be my mother earth
